The American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2026 Annual Awards. Honorees will be recognized on Monday, April 20, at 4:30 PM during the 2026 American Occupational Health Conference (AOHC).
The ACOEM Annual Awards recognize members who have demonstrated exemplary leadership, mentorship, research, and service in advancing occupational and environmental health and safety. This year’s recipients represent the highest ideals of our profession, our membership, and the public health sector.
The
2026 Excellence in Mentorship Award will be presented to Aisha Rivera Margarin, MD, MS, FACOEM, ProgramDirector, Occupational & Environmental Medicine Residency and Faculty Associate, Environmental Health and Engineering Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. As Program Director of the OEM Residency at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, she organizes training and educational experiences, mentors residents, and maintains the program’s ACGME accreditation. She serves as Medical Advisor to the International Association of Fire Fighters and is the course director for the Department of Environmental Health and Engineering’s Clinical Occupational and Environmental Toxicology Course.
The
2026 Lifetime Achievement in OEM Award will be presented to George L. Delclos, MD, MPH, PhD, FACOEM, Medical Director and Professor, UTHealth School of Public Health UT Health Services. Dr. George L. Delclos is Professor in the Department of Epidemiology, Human Genetics, and Environmental Sciences at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Public Health, and Distinguished Teaching Professor of The University of Texas System. He has served as Medical Director for UT Health Services since 1993.
The
2026 Executive Committee Outstanding Achievement Award will be presented to ACOEM’s Council on OEM Science. This award recognizes the Council for its outstanding contributions to advancing the scientific foundations of occupational and environmental medicine. Members of this Council include:
