ACOEM Introduces Sarang K. Yoon, DO, MOH, FACOEM, as Assistant Editor-in-Chief of the Clinical Practice Guidelines

Sarang K. Yoon, DO, MOH, FACOEM, has been selected as the new Assistant Editor-in-Chief of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) Clinical Practice Guidelines. Dr. Yoon will work alongside Kurt T. Hegmann, MD, MPH, FACOEM, who has served as Editor-in-Chief of the ACOEM guidelines since 2006.

Dr. Yoon is a board-certified Occupational Medicine physician and Associate Professor at the University of Utah, with more than a decade of clinical and academic experience focused on the careful evaluation and application of medical evidence in clinical decision-making. Dr. Yoon’s history with the ACOEM guidelines dates back to 2015, when she worked as a member of the ACOEM Clinical Practice Guidelines research team prior to her residency. In that role, Dr. Yoon participated in the structured literature review, evidence abstraction, and grading processes that inform the formal recommendations in the ACOEM Clinical Practice Guidelines.

As the Assistant Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Yoon will focus on developing and updating ACOEM’s rigorous, evidence-based guidelines by critically appraising scientific literature, synthesizing complex data, and translating research findings into clear, actionable, clinician-friendly recommendations. She will be collaborating closely with multidisciplinary medical expert panels, the research team, and Dr. Hegmann during the guideline development process.

The ACOEM Clinical Practice Guidelines are published by Alight Solutions and are available exclusively online through MDGuidelines.
