Who Should Join
Any member who has an interest in staying on top of issues relative to the different transportation modalities and also wishes to have input about changes in regulations such as the FMCSA guidelines, the proposed FRA medical standards for safety-critical employees, the new Maritime regulations, just to mention a few.

Function-Responsibility-Objective
The Transportation Section is composed of members interested or currently responsible for the care of individuals in various transportation modalities. Federal guidelines and regulations, as well as fitness for duty issues are frequent topics. This section sponsors at least one seminar at the annual AOHC meeting. Networking with other physicians with similar interests is an important benefit that comes with participation in this section.
Highlighted Activities
- Hold annual in-person section meeting at AOHC.
- Sponsor educational sessions at AOHC such as the CDL Update and the Update on Merchant Marine Medical Standards.
- In January 2013 held a webinar on Updates on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners.
