ACOEM Relocates Headquarters to Schaumburg Towers — A Strategic Move for the Future

This fall, ACOEM will relocate its headquarters to Schaumburg Towers – 1450 American Lane, Suite 700, a premier Class A property in the heart of Schaumburg, Illinois. Located just four miles from the current office and 15 miles from O’Hare International Airport, the transition remains convenient for staff and members, while offering a significant upgrade in environment and amenities and substantial cost savings. 

The decision to move wasn't made lightly. It comes after a comprehensive and data-driven process to find a workspace that is more aligned with ACOEM’s operational needs, employee expectations, long-term strategic goals, and resource availability.

Why the Move? A Matter of Cost, Culture, and Environment
As ACOEM has evolved, the space did not. The office had become too large, too expensive, and increasingly unsuited to the needs of a modern, engaged workforce. The building lacked the amenities and energy needed to support collaboration, morale, and overall employee satisfaction. Simply put, the space was holding ACOEM back.
The move to Schaumburg Towers is grounded in three key decision drivers:
  • Cost: By reducing ACOEM’s office footprint to 6,903 square feet – a 53% decrease = the new space generates significant lease savings and lowers overall occupancy costs, allowing the organization to prioritize more mission-aligned programs. 
  • Culture: The new space is designed to support employee retention, engagement, and satisfaction, with features like a Mother’s Room, glass-walled conference room, and multiple collaboration spaces.
  • Environment: Schaumburg Towers offers a professional, amenity-rich setting tailored to today’s workforce expectations, including a fitness center, collaboration areas, a cafeteria, and a micromarket. On-site conference services are available at no additional cost.
