The 2021 American Occupational Health Conference will be held virtually, May 2 - May 5.

The American Occupational Health Conference (AOHC) is the premier professional meeting for physicians and other health professionals who have an interest in the fields of occupational and environmental medicine (OEM). It is also the annual membership meeting for ACOEM’s members. AOHC has always provided a forum for connection, networking, and education. ACOEM strives to deliver a virtual conference experience that will allow registrants to obtain the world class education they expect from AOHC and discover new ways to connect with colleagues and leaders in the field of occupational and environmental medicine.

AOHC Virtual 2021 Scientific Abstract Submissions
Due February 8, 2021

The AOHC Program Committee is accepting scientific abstract submissions from residents or individuals. This is your opportunity to contribute to new dynamic, cutting-edge OEM research and help others navigate OEM’s rapidly evolving field. Proposals must be submitted electronically through the online submission site. Abstracts submissions must be received by February 8, 2021.

Sappington and Patterson Lecturers Announced

May 2, 2021 – Patterson Lecturer: Earl Dotter
Earl Dotter is the author of the book and exhibit LIFE’S WORK, A Fifty-Year Photographic Chronicle of Working in the U.S.A., and will present this exhibit at AOHC Virtual 2021. Dotter has been a Visiting Scholar at the Harvard School of Public Health since 1998, and is the recipient of several accolades including an Alicia Patterson Foundation Fellowship to document commercial fishing hazards, and APHA’s Alice Hamilton Award for photographing the rescue recovery effort at Ground Zero.
May 5, 2021 – Sappington Lecturer: Michael T. Osterholm, PhD, MPH
Dr. Olsterholm will present at AOHC Virtual 2021. He holds several distinguished positions including Regents Professor, McKnight Presidential Endowed Chair in Public Health, all at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Osterholm authored the best-selling 2017 book, Deadliest Enemy: Our War Against Killer Germs, which details the most pressing infectious disease threats and lays out a nine-point strategy on how to address them. He has been appointed to President-elect Joe Biden’s 13-member Transition COVID-19 Advisory Board and is a frequent guest lecturer on the epidemiology of infectious diseases.
