About ACOEM

Justice, Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity

ACOEM's Justice, Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity (JEDI) Committee was established in 2022 with the following charges:
 
  • Support the College's Strategic plan, mission, vision, and budgetary plan.
  • Review activities of the college to ensure and promote the principles of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) as appropriate.
  • Assess barriers to implementing changes.
  • Elevate importance and increase awareness of cultural and religious days of significance when planning ACOEM meetings and activities.
  • Increase awareness of events of cultural significance to ACOEM membership. 
  • Develop and implement tools for ACOEM members to support culturally competent care.
  • Develop and implement effective communication mechanism(s) among stakeholders to address JEDI concerns. 
  • Position occupational and environmental medicine physicians and other providers and ACOEM to be leaders in advancing justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion through education and research.
